ABOUT ABOUT

Do you want to feel feelings to become more expressive as an actor?

Do you want to get closure on an event that has haunted you for years?

Do you want to act a scene out from your own life?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions you are ready to do Psychodrama.

A note from Chad J. Willett- Instructor

I went into acting to feel feelings and that is why I majored in theater at the University of Kentucky.   I was emotionally shut down when I took my first acting course and to have an environment where I could experience and express emotions changed my life. I want my actors to have the same opportunity I had which includes a safe and supportive environment where one is allowed to feel feelings.  This is where Pyschodrama comes into play.

Psychodrama is a therapeutic technique used by counselors to allow their clients to re-enact scenes from their life and gain clarity, closure and understanding from one’s events.   I believe it is one thing to talk about one’s issues, however, to act them out on stage is quit a different experience. I can't think of a better experience for my actors to re-connect to their emotions and become more expressive at auditions, on set and on stage.

How It Works:

We are only taking 12 students and we will have 4 groups of 3.  Each student will re-enact a scene from their life and use the other two actors in their group to play characters from one’s life.  After your personal scene is played out, you will act in the other two people’s scene.  Each actor will act in 3 scenes: their own and in their two group members.
